You then fly back to System B only to discover that some A-hole has delivered 100 tons of the materials and the prices have dropped a god 20-30 credit per unit. You go fly to a system that sells that crap for cheap(lots of factors play into this and the economy is awesome in this game).

So lets say you goto sysem B and see what they will pay alot for. Trade ships ae comign and going and trading commodities which affect the prices of stuff real time as you sit there in the trade window. While your doing whatever, NPC's are going about their business. I already tried my hand at trading and I had to jump 2-3 times to reach my destination but later I may be able to do it in 1 jump.īeing in stations or other locations only consists of having a background wallpaper and a menu. Its cool, the distace you can starjump or whatever is controlled by a piece of equipment on your ship so you find better ones that let you jump further. I would not mind sitting there and watch my guy fly through a hyperspace tunnel, especially if they looked different between systems and stuff. I wish the tunnel traveling was more fluid. When you jump between systems you enter this cool hyperspace tunnel but after a few seconds the animation stops and it loads up the next area. After a battle its easy as hell to open your target menu and find your container and grab it again. Thats probably the number ne reason to drop your cargo if hostles show up. When you tow cargo your ship is really difficult to turn because of energy drain. All you eed to know is that you tow cargo instead of just fly it around. There is some lore that explains it but I forget.

It just sits in a container and you send out a drone to attach to the container and you sort of tow the cargo container around. Hauling cargo is kind of unique.cargo doesnt go in your ship. LB opens up another ship menu wheel that has all of your ship special abilities that you unlock and level up like improved energy recharge for weapons or shields, an EMP blast, and some other crap. RB opens up a ship menu to do different things like activate your jumpdrive, open a list of targets in the system(enemy, friendly, and nuetral), drop cargo, assist another ship?. The controls in space are pretty nice and intuitive. Im not sure how big exactly the galaxy will be but you have this map and the first area has like 10-20 systems in it and its only a tiny little fraction of the map. Hull = turrets, wings = weapons, engine = equipment.Īnd then there is craploads of turrets, weapons, and eqiupment to find and buy throughout the galaxy. Upgrading it improves its stats and can also lead to new slots for stuff.

Your ship can upgrade its hull, wings, and engines. You upgrade your ship by finding these orgnic thingies. Th graphics for everything else is ok.įont size is totally fubar but so is every freaking game. The graphics look like everything is made out of plastic and stuff as far as cutscenes. There are cutscenes and it looks like a horrable mix of cartoon and computer animation. But its pretty sweet none the less with your ability to commit piracy, trade, or do missions. Its not wing Commander sweet where you get to roam around the carrier and talk to different pilots. I finally got my hands on the game and its pretty freaking sweet. Wing Commander, Colony Wars, Project Sylpheed. When I first heard about this game I was pumped! Then the release date came and went and my freaking worthless rental place(whats the general term for a place like blockbuster/family video? I call it a video store) and my hopes and dreams died then.
